While Santa Fe may not be known for its Irish population let’s start things off with a little fun fact: Did you know that Santa Fe has had three Irish governors? Dillon, Cargo, and Kearney. General Stephen Kearney was also known for the capture of Santa Fe! There’s even an elementary school in town named after him! Luckily, with St. Patty’s Day around the corner, there are plenty of fun activities and delicious pubs to visit to make sure that your day is filled with corned beef, green beer, and dancing!
First things first, we have to stop somewhere for Corned Beef and Hash!
Acclaimed on TripAdvisor for their dog-friendly patio, warm environment, and delicious food, nothing shines brighter on their menu than their famous Corned Beef and Hash. Located right across from Chow’s Asian Bistro, this gastropub on St. Michaels Dr. is open Monday-Saturday from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Make sure you get there early, though! They’re always busy for St. Patty’s Day!
The Social Kitchen + Bar is exactly what it sounds like — a space in Santa Fe specially designed for members of the community to join together and enjoy good company, good music, and good food and drinks. Every Tuesday night from 6 PM – 8 PM, they hold a Blue Grass Jam Band, where they invite any members of the community to bring their instruments for a good old fashioned jam session. Stop by with your own jug and contribute to the grooves, or just enjoy the music! Either way, you’re sure to have fun!
Tiny’s Restaurant and Lounge is one of Santa Fe’s premier locations for dinner and dancing, and one of their most entertaining events is Tiny’s Open Mic Night. Hosted by John Rives and Randy Mulkey, the event goes from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM Welcoming performers of all kinds, you never know if you’re going to see the next singing star or up and coming comedian! With some of the best desserts and cocktails in town, Tiny’s Restaurant and Lounge is a great spot to spend St. Patty’s Day, whether it be for a date night or a night out with friends!
The Cowgirl BBQ has been serving up amazing BBQ fare and margaritas for the last 27 years here in Santa Fe. One of the best spots in town to grab a drink, grab a bite to eat, and catch some live music that’ll make you want to start dancing an Irish jig! This year, they even have the perfect band to get you into just the right mood for a jig: Ryan and the Resistors. Described simply as, “If Irish country is your thing, this your place to be on St. Patty’s Day!” well, who could go wrong there? Catch Ryan and the Resistors at The Cowgirl BBQ on March 17 from 7 PM – 10 PM
